The HANWAG Fortavo Low SF Extra GTX is made for hikers who demand performance and comfort over long distances and extended use – without compromise. At its core lies the innovative HANWAG Bead Technology, strategically integrated into the heel area. A dedicated cushioning pad absorbs impact on heel strike and efficiently returns the generated energy into the next step. This midsole construction combines the best properties of PU – stability, cushioning, and durability – with the advantages of e-TPU – low weight, comfort, and high energy return. Developed in collaboration with BASF, and based on extensive material testing, this technology is unique within the outdoor footwear sector. The newly developed outsole features a multifunctional tread design that delivers reliable grip on a wide range of surfaces. The profile has also been engineered to resist wear in high-impact areas. The anatomically shaped HANWAG StraightFit Extra last provides extra room at the forefoot, allowing the big toe to maintain a natural position. For the upper, HANWAG has deliberately chosen premium nubuck leather, offering robustness and longevity without sacrificing comfort. Thanks to the PFAS-free ePE GORE-TEX membrane, the shoe is fully waterproof and breathable. The shoe is crafted to a high standard using meticulous handwork. If it ever gets damaged, it can be repaired and the soles can be replaced.
