Accessibility Statement
Hanwag operates this website and is committed to making its content and functionality accessible to as many people as possible. To this end, we are continuously working to improve the website's accessibility. Our efforts are based on established global guidelines, including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
Our goal is to meet the WCAG 2.1 Level AA standard, which is also recommended by European accessibility regulations.
Current Accessibility Status
We acknowledge that some parts of the website are not yet fully accessible. A recent assessment identified the following issues:
Some images and videos lack clear or complete descriptions, making it difficult for assistive tools like screen readers to interpret their content.
The structure of some pages lacks clarity, which may affect the accessibility experience for users navigating via keyboard.
Some tables lack headings or a proper table structure, potentially hindering comprehension for screen reader users.
Navigation menus sometimes lack a proper list structure, making navigation via assistive technology more difficult.
Heading structures do not always follow a logical hierarchy, which can negatively impact the browsing experience.
Some links lack clear descriptions, making it difficult for users to understand where the link leads and potentially causing confusion or navigation errors.
Some videos lack subtitles, making the content difficult to access.
The contrast between some text and the background is insufficient, making it difficult for visually impaired users to read the content.
Some pages lack correct language attributes, which may prevent screen readers from reading the page content correctly.
Hanwag is committed to identifying and resolving these issues.
